All'Arco is the perfect place to get authentic Venetian cicchetti! If you're looking for a delicious snack then you have to stop here!
All'Arco is located in a cute corner shop hidden away on an alley off the Grand Canal in Venice. It's location is great if you're out sightseeing along the canal! The cicchetti - small Venetian dishes and snacks - that are served here are incredible! Each is a work of art, they look so good it almost feels bad to eat them. The ingredients used by All'Arco are very fresh and flavorful! Venice is filled with touristy eateries, but All'Arco is authentic and high-quality.
When you go to order, you wait in a relatively short line and point out the number and quantity of individual items that you want. Each item runs around £2 and about 5-6 makes for a filling snack. All'Arco has very limited seating so be prepared; it's common to eat your cicchetti on window sills that line the alley.
For uniquely Venetian cuisine you should stop by All'Arco! The food is delicious and the experience is memorable! -

On the bar crawl that my boyfriend and I were doing in Venice, we stopped by here. This one in particular seemed to make it on many bloggers list when I was doing some research. It wasn't too far off the Rialto bridge, so we stopped by.
This was definitely one of the busier bars we stopped by. There was a bit of line to get to the counter to order. There wasn't any standing room inside. We wanted to try out the cicchettis from here. It was so busy that they only had two cicchettis left. Everyone was ordering them and they weren't making them fast enough to keep them stocked in the window.
We took the last two cicchettis and walked outside for some room to stand. I will say that these were some of my favorites that I tried because of the bread. Most of the cicchettis in Venice were on larger soft bread, but here they were on super crispy breads. I did like this place, just wish it wouldn't of been so busy. -

This was on my list of places to eat after see them on a food doc.
We got there at 9 am when they open. Which in Italy that means the door is open and we are now preparing food, and that is totally fine with me. I love that there were locals there getting their tapas, beer and wine to start the day!
There are pic of the family on the wall, and they are the same people working to this day! I love it.
We started with two of the salt cod spread on baguette toast-Baccala con aglio. This is amazing. I asked for some basic as far as meats like coppa and prosciutto, I did not care as to the combo. Everything was great and I also let them pic my wine! most pieces are about 2 euros each.
This is a must for a stop in Venice! -

If you're going to Venice and are looking for a restaurant where you can get authentic Cicchetti this is the only place to go! It's hidden back amongst the streets of Venice (very close to the outdoor market and fish market) which is also an experience.
The place is tiny with no real sitting room inside but it's basically in a little courtyard so you have room to eat outside.
I tried the fried zucchini flower with stuffed cheese and sardines (pretty tasty!), and multiple Cichetti. I was on a food tour here and unfortunately I didn't get to pick which ones I really wanted to try other than one which is sad. So if/when I come back to Venice I'll be sure to come back here and get the Cichetti I want! -

Loves this place the first two times around and came back now a few years later.
And it's still the best place to enjoy cicchetti (or food in general) in Venice. And not just in Venice....these are the best cicchetti we've encountered in Italy so far.
The place still looks the same, feels the same...and the food tastes the same (in the best way possible). Most of the staff are family members, so the faces will be familiar as well.
It's a small place with a few tables (to stand at) inside and three or four tables and seats outside. Get lucky or wait (and try to get lucky) for one of them.
Most customers will stand outside thought in groups, having cicchetti, some wine and/or prosecco and talk. Which looks and feels very nice and relaxed. There are locals and tourists as well. Even though busy, it feels like another world compared to the rushing (but beautiful) streets of Venice. It's our favorite place in town.
The food as usual was excellent. You never know what masterpieces will be created or available that day. Here's some of the cicchetti we've had on that Saturday:
- cured ham and parmesan
- fresh ham, blue cheese and dried tomatoes
- cream cheese and anchovies
- fatty bacon
- Salami and Cheese
- cream cheese and chili
- ham, cheese and olives
- bacon, parmesan and porcini mushrooms
- salmon
- Canocchia (annocchia or squilla mantis)
- fresh octopus (no cicchetti - just a plate)
Every item costs between 2-4 Euros. And all are worth their money. Products are fresh, of high quality and tasty throughout. Wine and Prosecco prices are low as well.
Fantastic place to eat. Be it for just a snack or a real lunch. Be aware of the opening times (only lunch) and it's closed on sundays. We'll be back - definitely!
